she looks in the mirror
and she see you
and she tries to ignore you
but you call her name
in octaves
and she yells back your name
and the distance between them instantaneously shrinks
and she thinks life is wonderful since you arrived
so she smiles into the mirror
and you smile back.

i remember
i remember him--
his hair, briskly walking on his head,
against the wind.
and his hands. i remember
them, carefully handling a stack of papers
with his name and mine on the upper righthand corner,
just like the teacher told us.
and his eyebrows. i remember
they used to draw themselves into an arch
everytime he was nervous.
and his eyes. i remember
that exact shade of brown;
i remember them staining mine.
and his smile. i remember
being overwhelmed with warmth,
trying so hard to look away
before you consumed me whole.
ah, i remember now,
now that i've seen you again, walking by,
too shy to realize how blue the sky really is.
i wonder if he recognized me
under the shade his baseball cap cast
over his infatuating almond eyes.

ignorant happiness
you know, he grows happiness in his eyes,
around the iris, a starburst of eternity.
they looked at me once,
but not once, did he.
you thought his smile whispered a million hopes,
each breath, inhale and exhale.
it spoke to me once,
but not once he, still.
you dreamt his hands laughed,
as it slowly intertwined with yours.
it laughed in mine once,
but not once, did his laughter pour.
you concluded, he concluded you invisible,
set him aside as a bittersweet memory.
you see, he wanted to hold you,
trace the outline of love around your beautiful face.
he might have not told you,
but he told me.
you and i are alike, after all.

she's not happy.
even Narcissus sees flaws in his own bursting beauty.

breathing thought, part ii
a peeled passion
fruit
diffuses its nectar into the blurry air.
he's breathing white air,
tells me they look like animals.
i can't fathom what he sees in mine.
imagination dissapears with the coming wind.

chase the rainbow
before it fades away, gray.
each layer blankets the other
but the bridge cannot stay today.
but i thought i saw you waiting
on the other end.
